How do I Transfer?
Once you have decided to transfer to Fostering Connections, the first thing to do is give us a call. From there we will arrange a home visit with one of the team. We cover the whole of England, so when you call our team will be happy to come out to see you. During this visit we will talk you through the entire process and begin working alongside you and your current fostering agency/local authority to ensure the process is a smooth transition.
Once you feel comfortable with the process and wish to continue to transfer to Fostering Connections, you will need to write to your current agency or local authority with your intention to resign from them. Don’t worry we will guide you through this part of the process. From there, we will be able to discuss your intentions with your current agency and complete the background process of transfer.
We will be required to complete a new Form F, and you will be required to attend one of our Panels to complete the transfer process.
When you join the Fostering Connections family you will be assigned a Supervising Social Worker who will then be there to support and guide you through your fostering journey.
Can I transfer to another agency if I am currently caring for a child?
Yes you can. The process is slightly different. It is important to remember that Foster Carers can only be registered to Foster with one agency at a time. Any independent fostering agency or local authority will always ensure that the needs of any looked after child or young person are top priority.
Our highly trained and dedicated team will support you and any children you have placed in your care through every step of the transfer process.
